Lore and World
The story of Lunacia: why Axies fight in formation, who leads them, and what lurks beyond the Colosseum. Based on canonical lore (
referencia/v1-docs/LORE) completed with universe narrative elements.
1. The Grand Confluence
For millennia, Lunacia was a world where Axies fought skirmishes alone or on small three-warrior fronts. Strength was personal. Victory belonged to the deadliest fighter, not the sharpest mind.
That changed with the Fracture.
After countless siege cycles and relentless Chimera-shadow pressure on Lunacia's borders, the planet's spiritual energy hit a breaking point. The Rune Temple of the Ancestors — the pulsing core of the world's mana — suffered a cataclysmic fracture that bathed the continents in a blinding wave of light.
This arcane explosion did not bring destruction. It permanently altered the biological and spiritual resonance of every creature, marking the definitive awakening of Tactical Synergy.
Before this event, Axies fought linear, isolated skirmishes, trusting only individual strength or tiny three-unit fronts. Now residual rune energy floating in the atmosphere lets their souls intertwine when they share a battlefield — a bond of blood and magic that exponentially powers their natural attributes. Feeling their lineage nearby, a Plant warrior instinctively projects ethereal roots that shield allies, while a Beast's bloodlust accelerates the whole squad's heartbeat, turning the chaos of war into precise formation choreography.
This phenomenon — Tactical Synergy — is the base of everything that follows. It is not a learned skill: it is a resonance that activates when compatible souls share a field. The Grand Confluence did not create new warriors; it revealed that Axies were always connected, and only needed enough pressure for that bond to surface.
2. The Colosseum of the Nine Lineages
With the ecosystem reconfigured by the Fracture, Lunacia's supreme sages understood that disorganized brute force would no longer repel the darkness beyond the forests. So they raised the Colosseum of the Nine Lineages, an immense mystic proving ground where traditional combat was left behind.
In its place, the region's brightest minds take the mantle of commanders — visionary strategists who can read and pull the invisible threads connecting the races.
The Colosseum is not a gladiator pit. It is a tactical laboratory. Here, eight commanders face each other simultaneously, summoning tactical representations of their units from a personal registry of spiritual records. Combats no longer resolve as linear 3v3 skirmishes: board geometry, mana economy and whole-formation composition decide who survives and who falls.
Lunacia's lineages — Plant, Beast, Aquatic, Bug, Bird, Reptile, Mech, Dawn and Dusk — are the world's nine bloodlines. Each brings a distinct synergy, and a commander's mastery is measured by how well they weave those lines into mutually powering formations. A single Axie is a soldier. Nine well-combined Axies are an army.
3. The Commander and the Ronin Network
In the new golden age, tactical leaders no longer swing weapons or charge the vanguard. Their true mastery is summoning dynamic alignments from a personal spiritual registry, reading the exact geometry of the front board to place protective colossi and magic channelers at the perfect instant.
The player is a tactical summoner connected through the Ronin Network — the spiritual infrastructure that allows remote invocation of combat records. Your job is not to control individual blows: it is to orchestrate economy, position pieces, and build formations where anatomy, class and weapons amplify each other.
The reserve: 36 spiritual records
Before entering the Colosseum, each commander prepares a reserve of 36 units — spiritual records of Axies captured and stored on the Ronin Network. These are not inert copies: they are living echoes of the original Axie's soul, able to manifest combat abilities with the same intensity as the living being.
The reserve has three power layers:
| Record | Count | Tactical role |
|---|---|---|
| Cost 1 | 18 | Economic base: early cannon fodder and synergy foundation |
| Cost 2 | 12 | Transition: mid pieces that hold economy and extend formations |
| Cost 3 | 6 | Carry: pieces that define late-game win conditions |
Building the reserve well is the meta-game around the match: a commander who picks their 36 records wisely arrives with strategic edge before round one.
The Horn and Mana
Each spiritual record channels a Horn — the distinctive weapon that defines the Axie's Ultimate. The Horn fires automatically at 100 mana, gained by connecting basics (+10) or taking damage (+5). Synergy between body, class and Horn decides whether a formation works or collapses.
4. The Chimeras
Beyond the Colosseum walls, the darkness does not sleep.
Chimeras are the shadows besieging Lunacia — corrupted creatures born from the spiritual alteration of the Rune Temple Fracture. They are not point enemies: they are a constant threat, an endless wave cycle pressing the world's borders without rest.
In the game, Chimeras appear as PvE rounds that alternate with commander fights: a round opens with chimera(s) → then combat between commanders → then chimera again, and so on. In the current delivery, minimum PvE is one creature (Sapidae) with visible intent; waves and a wide creature catalog are horizon (09 · Futuro e Ideas). They drop components and extra gold — rewards that strengthen preparation for the next rounds.
But the narrative goes further. Chimeras are why the Colosseum exists. Sages did not raise the arena for sport: they raised it because shadow pressure was too great for any Axie alone. The Fracture did not only create Tactical Synergy — it also weakened the seals holding the Chimeras. They are the direct consequence of the same event that gave Axies their new power.
Every Colosseum match is, underneath, a war drill against the dark. Commanders do not fight each other for vanity: they train for the day Chimeras crest the walls and only harmony between steel, anatomy and mana can save Lunacia.
